Description
EnviZyme Iron Removal is a unique bacteria blend that improves the removal of excess iron and pyrite contamination in aquaculture ponds. In aquaculture, excessive levels of pyrite negatively affect the respiratory health of animals. Pyrite easily clogs gills leading to poor oxygen absorption resulting in increased stress and mortalities.
Pyrite is a common iron sulphide material found in most tropical coastal areas. When exposed to air, pyrite in moist soils is oxidized. This results in iron oxides and sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid leaches iron and heavy metals from the soil and this acidic combination of reactive and toxic metals is detrimental to most aquatic species, as well as standing crops such as rice and corn. Untreated pyrites in ponds and paddies results in chronically low yields and even total loss.

Preparation & Application
Mix recommended dose with 200L pond water, aerate 4 hours, broadcast evenly onto moist, ready to culture pond bottom, prior to water inundation. Inundate pond within 24 hours.
Pond Maintenance:
150g / hectare / week (double dose to obtain optimum results) Mix recommended dose with 100L pond water, aerate 4 hours, broadcast in the early morning, with maximum aeration for at least 3 hours.
For Best Results:
Dosages based on a one hectare pond one meter deep. Adjust dose accordingly based on the depth or size of the pond to be treated. Deteriorating water parameters may require more frequent treatments than weekly. Apply only when culture animals are healthy and are not being medicated. Apply product in early morning or late evening, with vigorous aeration. Maintain maximum aeration for 4 hours and regular aeration for the next 24 hours. Monitor oxygen levels at all times. Maintain healthy water and soil conditions.
Pond preparation:
- Low level pyrite: less than 30%: 500g/hectare
- High level pyrite: greater than 30%: 1.0kg/hectare
Storage and handling
Store in a cool dry place at room temperature. The recommended storage temperature is within a range of 1°C and 23°C (34°F to 73°F). Avoid excessive inhalation. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water after handling.
